1. Carrier Tape Definition

Packaging: It works in conjunction with a Cover Tape to seal components—such as resistors, capacitors, transistors, and diodes—securely within the pockets.
Protection: This closed packaging system protects sensitive electronic parts from contamination, oxidation, and physical damage during transportation and storage.
Automation: During the mounting process, the cover tape is peeled back, and the automated pick-and-place machine uses the tape’s indexing holes to precisely locate and retrieve each component for mounting onto the Printed Circuit Board (PCB).
